A 29-year-old man has been taken to hospital after allegedly being assaulted in Woolwich.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Wellington Street yesterday (March 13) shortly after 4.40am.

He was taken to an east London hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made following the incident.

Anyone with information should call 101 by quoting reference 1450/13MAR.

A spokesperson for Met Police said: “At 04.41am on Sunday, March 13, police were called to Wellington Street, SE18 following reports of an assault.

“Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics.

“A 29-year-old man was taken to an east London hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“At this stage, there have been no arrests.

“Anyone with information should call 101, giving the reference 1450/13MAR.

“Information can also be provided to Crimestoppers, anonymously, by calling 0800 555 111.”
