TRAIN services are being delayed this morning (February 9) after a signalling problem at Lewisham station.

The issue was reported by Southeastern rail shortly after 7.30am.

Southeastern said the problem may cause some trains to be delayed up to 20 minutes.

The disruption through the line is expected to last until 10am.

The services through Lewisham have returned back to normal, however, some trains will continue to experience delays.

Southeastern (@Se_Railway) tweeted: “NEW: A signalling problem in the #Lewisham area is causing delays to some trains through the station.

“Staff are on-site and are working to fix the problem, but some services through the area may experience some delays.

“UPDATE: In order to minimise the impact of the delays through #Lewisham, trains between Orpington and Cannon Street will not stop at Lewisham until further notice.

“If travelling between Lewisham and stations via Grove Park, you'll need to change at New Cross or Hither Green.

“ONGOING: Services through #Lewisham are experiencing delays while staff work to resolve a signalling problem in the area.

“Some services may run via alternative routes in order to reduce the number of trains through the area."
