THE number of Covid infections has fallen in south east London, according to the latest coronavirus data.
Figures have also fallen across the UK after 120,821 cases were recorded in the latest 24-hour period compared to 218,724 cases on January 4.
Only 155 (41 per cent) of 377 local areas in the UK have seen a week-on-week rise in rates, whereas 222 (59 per cent) have seen a fall.
The lowest Covid rate in south east London is recorded in Dartford with only a total of 1841 new cases.
The data shows Covid cases between January 1 to January 7.
The data is based on the number of people who have tested positive for Covid in either a lab-reported or rapid lateral flow test, by specimen date.
The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.
Bexley
The number of Covid cases in Bexley has fallen from 2004.0 (4996 cases) to 1548.7 (3861 cases).
Greenwich
In Greenwich, the case rate has fallen from 1911.9 (5526 cases) to 1443.8 (4173 cases).
Dartford
In Dartford, the case rate has fallen from 2020.1 (2304 cases) to 1614.2 (1841 cases).
Bromley
The number of Covid cases in Bromley has declined from 1915.8 (6375 cases) to 1455.7 (4844 cases).
Lewisham
In Lewisham, the case rate has fallen from 1859.8 (5678 cases) to 1372.1 (4189 cases)
Southwark
The number of Covid cases in Southwark has declined from 1772.4 (5672 cases) to 1450.2 (4641 cases)
