There have been four separate convictions for stealing chocolate from shops in south east London over the past month.

We looked at the cases which have been in court since December 13 - one month ago.

Samantha Lee, Tye Atherton, Leonie Stevens and Tania Austen were all found guilty of stealing the sweet treats.

From WH Smiths to Morrisons, here we take a look at each case in full:

Tania Austen

The 45-year-old admitted to stealing chocolate to the value of £48 from WH Smith in Bromley High Street on December 10, 2021.

Austen, of Palace Grove in Bromley, was fined £154 in total for the offence during a hearing at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on December 13, 2021.

This includes a £120 fine, compensation of £24 and £10 to fund victim services.

She was ordered to pay £20 per month starting on January 10.

Leonie Stevens

The 38-year-old admitted to stealing chocolate to the value of £48 from WH Smith in Bromley High Street on December 10, 2021.

Stevens, of Tweedy Road in Bromley, was fined £144 in total for the offence during a hearing at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on December 13, 2021.

This includes a £120 fine and compensation of £24.

She was ordered to pay £20 per month starting on January 10.

Tye Atherton

The 37-year-old admitted to stealing chocolate to the value of £100 from Morrisons Petrol Garage in Erith on July 23, 2021.

Atherton, of Magpie Close in Enfield, was fined £72 in total for the offence during a hearing at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on December 14, 2021.

This includes £50 in compensation and a £22 surcharge to fund victim services.

He was ordered to pay this by January 14.

Samantha Lee

The 36-year-old admitted to stealing chocolate to the value of £100 from Morrisons Petrol Garage in Erith on July 23, 2021.

Lee, of Maynard Close in Erith, was fined £72 in total for the offence during a hearing at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on December 14, 2021.

This includes £50 in compensation and a £22 surcharge to fund victim services.

She was ordered to pay £10 per fortnight starting on January 11.
