Two Gravesend men have been charged over an alleged spree of commercial burglaries which saw cash, cigarettes and alcohol stolen.

The thefts are reported to have taken place between December 1 and January 4, with six businesses in Gillingham, Sussex and Gravesend targeted.

The suspects were unable to gain entry to two of the premises.

Following several enquiries officers arrested three men on Wednesday 5 January and a fourth the following day.

Hawbash Hassan, 27, of Corporation Road, Chatham, has been charged with four counts of burglary and two charges of attempted burglary.

Sami Kamali, 21 of Kent Road, Gravesend, has been charged with burglary.

Ahamed Ghafori, 21, of Milton Road, Gravesend, has also been charged with two counts of burglary and one attempted burglary.

Serwer Khalid, 18, of Magpie Hall Road, Chatham, has been charged with four counts of burglary and two counts of attempted burglary.

The four men appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on January 7.

Following the court appearance Mr Hassan was remanded in custody. Mr Ghafori, Mr Khalid and Mr Kamali were each bailed with conditions.

All four men are due to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on February 4.
