Two people have been injured after a multi-vehicle crash on the M25 at Dartford Crossing.

Police were called to the scene at the A282 near to junction 1b at around 12.30pm today.

The crash is said to have involved several vehicles.

Ambulance crews also attended and two people are reported to have suffered injuries.

The crash closed the M25 clockwise, or A282 south between J1A - J2 throughout the afternoon.

Traffic was queueing all the way back to Essex - with long delays.

All lanes have now reopened but delays of around an hour remain as the traffic recovers.

As of around 4.15pm, there were around seven miles of congestion.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: "Kent Police was called at 12.31pm on Wednesday 15 December to the A282 near to junction 1b following reports of a collision involving several vehicles.

"SECAMB also attended and two people are reported to have suffered injuries."

The latest tweet from Highways England said: "All lanes are now open on the #M25 clockwise J1A-J2, near the #A282, following an earlier collision.

"Delays of approximately 60 minutes remain on the approach, with just under 7 miles of congestion.
