Dartford Borough Council is appealing for witnesses as fly-tippers block road in Southfleet.

Dartford Borough Council’s Environmental Enforcement team are appealing for locals to come forward if they saw fly-tipping taking place in Southfleet last week.

On Friday December 10, building material, debris and rubbish were dumped at Park Corner Road and Foxhounds Lane.

The council has called for motorists who were in the area between 6pm and 10pm to “check dashcams for footage of goods vehicles”.

The waste initially covered the entire road but was then moved so traffic could pass by safely.

Leader of the council Jeremy Kite said: “Any amount of fly-tipping, in any part of our borough, is totally unacceptable.

“In this instance, the criminals who dumped their waste so selfishly have blocked a road in the process, causing disruption not only to local traffic, but potentially to emergency services who could be on their way to save a life.

“I’d urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area on Friday to come forward and speak to our Environmental Enforcement team.”
