A new support service has been introduced by Bexley council for victims of domestic abuse.

The service, One Stop Shop, is a free walk-in and confidential support system located in Bexleyheath Central Library.

The service is offered to any resident aged 16 and over, from 12.30pm to 3pm every Wednesday with no appointment required.

Cabinet member for Adult Services, councillor Brad Smith said: “We have been able to get key services in a venue that is discreet and central.

“In this one place, we can offer help to victims of domestic abuse on a range of subjects from local experts.”

The service opened its doors on December 8 and is led by domestic abuse charity, Solace.

The council says if you need support or have worries about domestic abuse, you can visit the One Stop Shop or alternatively call the Solace advice helpline telephone 020 3198 4659.

The 24-hour domestic abuse helpline number is also available on 0808 2000 247.
