We asked south east Londoners’ if they will be working from home after the newly introduced Covid guidelines.

Some News Shopper readers say they are happy to work from home.

While other south east London residents described staying at home as an "unaffordable luxury".

The guidelines were announced by Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, who said the advice to work from home, where possible, will come into place from Monday, December 13.

Here’s what south east London residents had to say:

Joshua Gopali said: “The building trade has to carry on again. We cannot afford such luxuries.”

Julia MacLoughlin said: “I haven’t stopped working from home.

“Luckily, my firm was happy for me to do so permanently.

“Many people have gone back two to three days and are not expected to go back to full-time work again.

“My office closed again next week for those who can do their jobs from home.”

Anna Marie Hayward said: “I wish I had the luxury to work from home.

“I register births and deaths on the front line and it’s relentless.

“We are short-staffed and incredibly undervalued and underpaid.”

Matt Finch said: “I have been working from home since the first lockdown.

“ It’s permanent for us now, I’m one of the lucky ones, I know.

Josh Oleary said: “I have been working from home the whole time and loving it.”

The guidelines will be in place to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus Omicron variant.
