A man has been arrested after an assault outside a pub in Eltham.

Police were called to Footscray Road at around 8.30pm on Friday evening to reports that a man had been assaulted.

A man, in his 50s, was taken to hospital for treatment.

The victim’s condition was found not to be life-threatening.

A man, 37, was arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent at the scene.

He remains in custody.

Enquiries continue.

A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at approximately 8.30pm on Friday, December 10 to reports of a man assaulted outside a pub in Footscray Road, SE9.

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and a man, aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital for treatment; his condition is not life-threatening.

“A 37-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of GBH with intent; he remains in custody.

“Enquiries into the circumstances continue.
