Police have issued an urgent appeal after men in balaclavas were caught stealing a catalytic converter tonight (Wednesday) in Sidcup.
Three men with their faces covered were disturbed stealing the vehicle part at around 8.30pm in Townshend Close.
Bexley Police are now conducting an area search.
Officers have told the public to "call 999 immediately" if they are spotted.
They said to "keep an eye out" in Bexley, Sidcup and Footscray.
The suspect vehicle is possibly a BMW X5 according to officers.
Bexley Police said: "#Appeal 🚨3 males wearing balaclavas/face coverings disturbed stealing a cat converter from vehicle in Townshend Close, Sidcup 10 mins ago.
"Police in area now conducting area search.
"Suspect vehicle - possibly BMW X5.
"Keep an eye out in Bexley, Sidcup & Footscray - Call 999 immediately."
