MEMBERS of Extinction Rebellion targeted the Amazon warehouse at the Littlebrook Business Centre in Dartford early this morning.
The group is blocking the entrances using bamboo structures, locks, and banners with the words ‘Amazon Crime’ and ‘Black Friday exploits people and planet’ on them.
The climate activists say the action aims to draw attention to the environmental impact of the Black Friday sales.
Kent police have released a statement saying: “We were called to reports that a group of more than 20 people were obstructing the access road outside the premises.
“Those present are situated in front of two entrances where some are locked onto concrete and wooden structures.
“We are in attendance and working to end the protest whilst liaising with partner agencies, and the managers at the business, to minimise traffic disruption in the area.”
The group has also blocked 15 other Amazon fulfilment centres in the UK, Germany and the Netherlands.
