Police seized a suspected stolen car in Dartford after finding the driver’s fingerprints did not match those of the registered owner.
At 11.30pm on Tuesday, November 16, officers pulled over a black Ford Mondeo on Crossways Boulevard for driving without its lights on.
Checks carried out at the scene revealed the registered owner lived in Berkshire and a scan of the driver’s fingerprints confirmed he was not the registered keeper.
A small quantity of cannabis was also seized, and he was detained on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle, possessing a class B drug and driving without a licence or insurance.
The 23-year-old, from Greenhithe, has since been released from custody while enquiries, which include efforts to locate the owner of the car, continue.
