Drivers faced queues of up to six miles this morning after a broken-down vehicle closed the Blackwall Tunnel.
The northbound tunnel, which links Greenwich to Tower Hamlets, closed at around 6.30am after a vehicle became stuck.
The crucial commuter route reopened by 8.30am, as drivers were advised to anticipate significant delays.
Transport for London(TfL) said in a statement: “Traffic remains slow northbound on the Blackwall Tunnel Approach with tailbacks beyond the Woolwich Flyover.
“Expect delays.”
Insulate Britain blocked the northbound entrance to the Blackwall Tunnel in rush hour last month, also causing extensive delays.
