A female cyclist was rushed to hospital "as a priority" following a crash involving a lorry which closed a major south London. 

The ambulance service was called to Great Dover Street at 8.22am this morning, dispatching multiple vehicles.

The victim, a woman in her 30s, was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, where her injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening.

A Met spokesman said: "Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.”

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 8.22am today (4 November) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a cyclist and a truck on Great Dover Street, SE1.

"We sent an ambulance crew, a medic in a car, and an incident response officer. We also dispatched by road London's Air Ambulance.

"A woman was treated at the scene and taken to a hospital as a priority."
