Christmas is just around the corner and there is no better way to get into the festive spirit than spending time at some Christmas markets.

Last year, seeing the pandemic put a stop to a lot of the markets, it means this year they are coming back bigger than ever.

With many well-known festive markets promising to have more stalls, activities, and food and drink options than ever before.

To make sure you don’t miss out on some of the top markets across London, we’ve put together a quick list of the top 5.

 

Winter Wonderland

When: 19 November to 3 January

Where: Hyde Park

The Wonderland has been a Christmas tradition for 15 years and attracts people from all across the globe.

The market will of course have a range of stalls and street food but will also have ice skating, roller coaster rides, shows, and live music.

Ticket prices range from £7.50 at peak times and are free at off-peak. All visitors to the fair will have to pre-book online to gain entry to the market.

Leicester Square Christmas Market

When: 12 November to 9 January

Where: Leicester Square

The square will be home to 25 festive stalls that will sell an array of products of handmade gifts, food and drink vendors, and a Santa’s Grotto.

Plus there will be a big 1920’s Spiegeltent that will have entertainment including a La Clique circus, an “All senses Christmas Cabaret” and a Drag Christmas Variety show called “Tucking around the Christmas Tree”.

Tickets to the market are free, but there are additional prices for shows in the Spiegeltent.  

 

Southbank Centre Winter Market

When: 4 November to 24 December

Where: South Bank

The Centre’s Christmassy market will not only have a choice of food and drink including gourmet cheese toasties, truffle burgers and eggnog.

But will also have Jimmy’s Winter Lodge, private heated snow globes that can be enjoyed with a legendary cheese fondue.

Tickets for this event are free to all.

Greenwich Christmas Market

When: 2 to 23 December

Where: Greenwich Market

Greenwich Christmas Market will have over 150 stalls and shops selling great stocking fillers, original artwork, crafts, and fashion accessories.

The area will be decked out in festive lights, and there will be a wide choice of festive foods to try.

Tickets for this market are free.

Borough Market Christmas Market

When: 22 November to 9 January

Where: Borough Market

Along with the market's usual array of food and drinks options from all across the world, at Christmas, the market joins in with the festive spirit.

Adding stalls that will give a taste of Christmas and perfect gifts for any food lover.
