Halloween is fast-approaching, and a whole host of horrifying events and celebrations will be springing up this month.
As part of the season many people might be looking at the most haunted places in their town or city, but what is the spookiest city in the whole of the UK.
Researchers at OnlineMortgageAdvisor.co.uk listed the top 20 in the UK based on a number of factors, with London coming in the top ten.
These factors were: the number of cemeteries, paranormal sightings, abandoned homes, spooky roads, safety at night, level of crime and annual sunshine.
In order to get the most accurate data, the numbers for each criteria were divided by the total population for each location.
Newport came top with 1,070 overall points, Birmingham was second with 1040 and Leicester rounded off the top three with 980.
London came in seventh place with 870 points, with it ranking joint-highest for number of cemeteries.
It also scored 210 for paranormal sightings, 160 for abandoned houses, 200 for spooky roads, 60 for safety at night and 100 for level of crime.
