The latest case rates have been released for every local authority area in England and in most of them, infections are rising again.

Nationally, 301 out of the 377 local areas in England (80 per cent) have seen a fall in cases, and 74 (20 per cent) have seen a rise.

Two are unchanged.

These figures are accurate for the seven days to September 25 – with most recent days excluded for accuracy.

They are compared with a week prior – the seven days to September 18.

The figures are based on the number of people who have tested positive for Covid-19 in either a lab-reported or rapid lateral flow test, by specimen date.

The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.

Bexley

The Covid rate in Bexley has risen from 173.3 (432 cases) to 210.6 (525 cases).

Bromley

Bromley’s rate is at 220.9 (735 cases), having risen from 189.0 (629 cases) the week before.

Greenwich

The rate in Greenwich is one of those which has fallen, and sits at 179.6 (519 cases) compared with 182.7 (528 cases) the week before.

Lewisham

In Lewisham, the coronavirus case rate has risen to 173.6 (530 cases) from 167.0 (510 cases).

Southwark

Southwark’s case rate is 150.6 (482 cases), which has risen from a rate of 149.4 (478 cases) the week before.

Dartford

Nearby in Dartford, the Covid rate has risen from 239.4 (273 cases) to 287.6 (328 cases).
