The latest case rates have been released for every local authority area in England and in most of them, infections are rising.

Nationally, 345 out of the 315 local areas in England (92 per cent) have seen a rise in cases, and 31 (8 per cent) have seen a fall.

One was unchanged unchanged.

These figures are accurate for the seven days to September 6 – with most recent days excluded for accuracy.

They are compared with a week prior – the seven days to August 30.

The figures are based on the number of people who have tested positive for Covid-19 in either a lab-reported or rapid lateral flow test, by specimen date.

The rate is expressed as the number of new cases per 100,000 people.

The rates in each south east London borough have risen.

Bromley

The rate in Bromley has risen to 288.8 (961 cases) from 231.1 (769 cases) the week before.

Bexley

Bexley’s rate has risen from 230.2 (574 cases) to 266.3 (664 cases).

Greenwich

In Greenwich, rates are at 224.5 (649 cases), having risen from 202.1 (584 cases).

Lewisham

Lewisham’s rate is at 229.3 (700 cases), with a rise from 211.6 (646 cases).

Southwark

In Southwark, the coronavirus case rate is 247.8 (793 cases), having risen from 217.8 (697 cases).

Dartford

Nearby in Dartford, cases have risen to 292.0 (333 cases) from 228.8 (261 cases).

The highest UK rates are all in Scotland.

The list has been calculated by the PA news agency using data published on September 10 on the Government’s coronavirus dashboard.
