Two lanes were closed and there is still queueing traffic today (Friday) on the M25 following an accident, according to AA Maps.

The traffic service said this involved "a lorry and a car" on the M25 clockwise at Dartford Tunnels - J1A A206.

The AA said there is "severe delays of 42 minutes" - though these are easing.

The average speed is ten miles per hour.

The AA reported earlier this morning that there was congestion until just before the J20 A13 at Lakeside back across the Queen Elizabeth II bridge.

Lanes one and two (of four) were closed after the accident but have now reopened.

At 11am, AA Maps posted: "Queueing traffic and traffic heavier than normal on M25 anticlockwise from J3 M20 (Swanley Interchange) to J1A A206 (Dartford Tunnels)."

The full initial traffic update after the crash said: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident, a lorry and a car involved on M25 clockwise at J1A A206 (Dartford Tunnels).

"Congestion to just before the J30 A13 (Lakeside) back across the QE2 Bridge.

"Lanes one and two (of four) are closed."
