A group of teenagers attacked a man with a broken bottle after he was asked them to be quiet on the train to Welling last month, sparking a CCTV appeal from police.

A group of two teenage girls and one boy became verbally abusive and threatening towards the victim after he asked them to be quiet on the train, British Transport Police said.

The group were already causing a disturbance on the train, travelling from Charing Cross to Dartford at 11:20pm on Thursday, July 22.

The boy then smashed a bottle of Smirnoff vodka on the seat of the train and swung it towards the victim, cutting his hand.

The boy then kicked the victim several times, before the group got off the train at Welling station.

The man had to be taken to hospital for treatment to lacerations on his hand.

British Transport Police believe the young people in the CCTV images may have information which could help their investigation.
