There are miles of congestion on the M25 from Clacket Lane Services to Orpington following an "accident", according to AA Maps.

The traffic news service reported that there is one lane closed and long delays due to an accident on the M25 clockwise.

It is reported to have involved a lorry, van and car.

The congestion is from Clacket Lane Services to junction 4 at Orpington and back along the M26.

AA Maps said that lane four of four remains closed.

The traffic update said: "One lane closed, long delays and queueing traffic for six miles due to accident, a lorry, van and car involved on M25 clockwise before (Clacket Lane Services).

"Congestion to J4 (Orpington) and back along the M26. Lane four (of four) remains closed."

A spokesperson for Kent Police said: "Kent Police was called at 6.50am on 25 August to a collision on the M25 between junctions 5 and 6.

"The collision involved a car, a Ford Transit van and a lorry.

"Officers attended and no serious injuries were reported.

"A temporary lane closure was put in place, which has now been removed."

There was also another incident on the anticlockwise carriageway on the M25 from junction 6 to junction 5 this morning but this has now cleared according to Highways England.
