A man, believed to be 24, was rushed to hospital after being stabbed multiple times in south London yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to New Park Road, Brixton, at around 1.40pm (July 26), where they found the victim with stab wounds.

The incident reportedly took place outside Tesco Express, at the junction with Streatham Place.

Paramedics treated him at the scene and took him to hospital "as a priority", where his injuries were assessed as non-life-threatening.

Police are yet to make any arrests, as enquiries into the circumstances continue.

A London Ambulance Spokesperson said: "We were called at 1.43pm today (July 26) to reports of a stabbing on New Park Road, SW2.

"We sent an ambulance crew and an incident response officer. We also dispatched a London's Air Ambulance car.

"A man was treated at the scene and taken to a major trauma centre as a priority."
