A man was found to be carrying weapons at Woolwich Crown Court this morning (Tuesday).

The three daggers and knives, up to 16cm in length, were found in his bag.

Metropolitan Police from Greenwich said a “quick thinking” by police court liaison officer named Barry promptly took action.

The officers warned the public not to attend court with daggers or knives “otherwise you’ll be arrested”.

The force revealed what had happened on social media in a post that said: “#Arrested Don’t attend court with a daggers/knives otherwise you’ll be arrested!!

“Male attended Woolwich Crown court this morning and was found to have the below items in his bag.

“Quick thinking by Police Court liaison officer Barry who promptly took action. #spaceforone.”
