Nearly £5,000 has been raised for the family of a ten-year-old girl who died after being hit by a car while walking on a residential Dartford street.

Lily died on Sunday evening (July 11), following the crash which took place shortly after 6pm the day before on Watling Street, near the junction with Meadow Way.

A fundraiser set up for her family has already raised nearly £5,000.

The gofundme, started by Nicole Lincoln, reads: “Our beautiful Lily was hit in Watling on Saturday evening and passed away on the evening of Sunday lily was the most amazing little girl so happy so loving so perfect.

“I'm setting up this page for her amazing mum her amazing step dad and her brothers and sisters that are all completely broken.

“This is to help them as a family financially as their lives are shattered.

“Please donate as little or as much as you can everything will help.”

A man in his 50s, who was driving a yellow Audi S1, was arrested prior to the girl’s death on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving while impaired.

He has since been bailed until Tuesday, August 3.

Officers would like to talk to anyone who witnessed the incident, saw the pedestrian or vehicle prior to the incident, or anyone who has any dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage.
