A man who allegedly smashed a car’s windows with an axe in West Wickham as the occupants sat inside has been released under investigation.
The alleged road-rage incident took place at around 11.30pm, June 16, on Pickhurst Lane, as the victims returned home from a family birthday gathering.
Stuart Hill, 52, of Ondine Road, Southwark, was charged on Thursday, June 17, with drink-driving in relation to the incident.
He is due to appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court on Thursday, July 1.
He has been released under investigation in relation to the offences of criminal damage, possession of an offensive weapon and affray.
The four occupants of the car allege they were rammed by a van, then set upon by the driver when they pulled over.
One of the victims further reported sustaining an injury to her arm.
