OLYMPIC athlete Judy Oakes has been trying to inspire some of Bexley's girls to get more involved in sport.
At 42, Ms Oakes became the oldest ever competitor in an Olympic field event when she took part in the shot putt at the Sydney Games in 2000.
She visited the Crook Log leisure centre in Brampton Road, Bexleyheath, to take part in a girls' active day for 14 to 16-year-olds.
The visit was organised by the Hurstmere School Sport Partnership and funded by Sport England as part of its sporting champions initiative.
Ms Oakes is one of 75 athletes taking part in the initiative.
They will visit schools and community events to encourage all young people to take part in sport and lead healthier, more active lifestyles.
