A NEW member has been appointed by the Association of Police Authorities to deal with workforce issues.
The association represents police authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland on the national stage.
Brian Sangha, from Gravesend, will represent police authorities across England and Wales on human resources issues.
The married 59-year-old father-of-three took up the role on December 17 but will also continue working as chairman of the human resources committee at the Kent Police Authority.
Mr Sangha said: "This appointment will bring double benefits to Kent and will certainly help to make sure as a county we are more influential on national policing policy.
"My work at a national level will be quickly fed back into the authority in Kent, so it's a win-win situation all round."
Kent Police Authority chairman Ann Barnes said: "I am delighted Brian has been appointed to this role.
"His thoughts and views will help to have a positive impact on HR policing decisions."
