A 19-YEAR-OLD man charged with the attempted murder of a police officer has been remanded in custody.
Joel Johnson, of Hatcham Park Road, Lewisham, appeared at Greenwich Magistrates' Court on December 24.
He is also charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
The charges relate to the shooting of an officer during a surveillance operation in New Cross Road, New Cross, on December 22.
The officer, who was shot in the hand, was in an unmarked police car with another officer as they followed a suspect vehicle.
Johnson was remanded in custody and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on March 31.
A second man, aged 20, has been bailed pending further inquiries.
