A 46-YEAR-OLD man whose "wanted" face appeared on the front of the News Shopper has appeared in court.
Martin Egan was wanted by police in connection with £100 damage caused to a window at the Royal British Legion Club in Lewisham High Street in September.
His face appeared on the front of the Lewisham News Shopper on December 5 when police appealed for help in tracking him down, along with three others.
As a result of the appeal, Egan was arrested on December 7, when he tried to check into a hostel in Brockley Road, Brockley and was recognised.
Egan, of no fixed address, appeared at Greenwich Magistrates' Court on December 14 charged with criminal damage.
He pleaded guilty and was given the choice of a £85 fine or a day in jail. He opted for the latter.
