TENANTS have decided not to transfer their homes to a housing association.
Residents in the New Cross Gate area voted to keep their housing stock under council control rather than transfer it to the Hyde Housing Association.
This follows a ballot held between November 19 and December 17.
Out of 769 ballot papers received, 420 were against the transfer.
The ballot involved 1,221 households and 1,353 tenants were eligible to vote.
A council spokesman said: "Lewisham Council remains committed to taking a resident-led approach to improving homes and services in the borough.
"We will now work with New Cross Gate residents to explore a way of achieving the Government's Decent Homes Standard."
