A woman is currently in critical condition in hospital and receiving treatment after being found unresponsive in a street in Bromley yesterday (June 10).
News Shopper had previously reported a Metropolitan Police statement suggesting a woman in her 40s was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident in Freelands Road at 8.55am.
Since publishing today (June 11), we have since received an update from Metropolitan Police confirming this information was issued in error.
An updated statement confirms the woman found in Freelands Road received treatment at the scene, before being taken to hospital in a critical condition.
The updated statement read: "Police were called at 8.55am by LAS to Freelands Road, Bromley after a woman was found unresponsive.
"The woman, aged in her 40s, was taken to hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious."
News Shopper has been in contact with a member of the family and we apologise for any upset caused following our publication of the police's inaccurate initial statement.
