A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A2, causing travel disruption this morning.

Police and ambulance crews attended the scene near Gravesend's Tollgate Services after reports of a collision between a van and a motorbike at around 6:40am.

The motorcyclist was taken to hospital, but he is not believed to have suffered any serious injuries.

Highways England is reporting tailbacks between the A227 Wrotham Road and Pepperhill on the London-bound carriageway.

The road has since reopened and traffic released as the situation is dealt with on the hard shoulder.

Queues of 30 minutes were reported, although the road has now reopened, but a second crash involving two cars on the A226 Rochester Way has caused further disruption.
