Fire crews are currently in attendance at a large fire near Beckenham Park Place this evening (Wednesday, June 2).
Images circulated on social media Wednesday showing smoke billowing over Beckenham Park at around 6pm.
Photographs sent to News Shopper taken closer to the source of the smoke showed fire burning what appeared to be a derelict building close to Beckenham Park Place.
Fire crews from London Fire Brigade (LFB) could meanwhile be seen battling the flames with water cannons, while sections of the building's roof were visibly burnt out.
Responding to a request from News Shopper, a spokesperson for LFB said:
"We were called at 5.30pm to a disused house of three floors. Six fire engines and around 40 fire fighters are in attendance.
"80 per cent of the roof is alight. 10 per cent of the second floor is alight.
"The incident is still ongoing."
