The search for a missing woman near Dartford has ended after a body was sadly discovered.
Kent Police say a body was located in the Calfstock Lane area of Farningham shortly after 7pm on Sunday, May 30, and is believed to belong to a 53-year-old woman reported missing earlier in the day.
An appeal had been launched to find Julie Boddington, 53, who was last seen at her home in Horton Kirby near Dartford at about 10am on Sunday.
More than 50 police officers and Kent Search and Rescue volunteers were deployed in a large-scale search, and Kent Police launched an appeal for information as they grew increasingly concerned for her welfare.
But on Monday morning, police confirmed that officers searching for the missing woman had sadly located a body.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: "Officers attended the Calfstock Lane area of Farningham shortly after 7pm on Sunday 30 May 2021, where the body of a woman was located.
"Formal identification has not yet taken place, however, the family of a 53-year-old woman who was reported missing earlier in the day have been informed.
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner."
A Kent Search and Rescue spokesperson added: "Approximately 50 officers from Kent Police and Kent Search & Rescue were deployed yesterday in the search for Julie Boddington.
"The search also involved specialist Search Dogs and Water Rescue Teams and covered a large area including South Darenth, Horton Kirby and Farningham.
"Tragically a body was located in the early evening.
"The thoughts and prayers of all involved are with Julie’s family at this sad time."
