A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 11.58am today (14 May) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and motorcycle on Loampit Vale, SE13.
"We sent an ambulance crew, who treated a man at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre as a priority."
Loampit Vale remains closed both ways, with traffic queuing from St John's Vale. Thurston Road has become congested as traffic diverts.
