A 13-year-old boy was stabbed this morning as he travelled to school near the Greenwich Foot Tunnel.
Police were called to Parsonage Street, Isle of Dogs, at 8.50am following reports of a stabbing.
The victim, thought to be a student at nearby George’s Green, was treated at the scene and rushed to a major trauma centre as a priority, according to the ambulance service.

An air ambulance was seen landing in Millwall Park.
A statement on George’s Green’s website reads: “There was a serious incident in the local community this morning affecting a George Green’s School student.
“We are working with the local authority, the police and other agencies to manage the incident and support all the young people involved.
“The families of any young people who were directly affected have been contacted by the school.
“There is likely to be an increased and more visible police presence in and around the school today.
“Further updates for parents will follow in due course.”
