Residents over 50 can book a Covid-19 vaccine at a pop-up vaccination clinic in Lewisham Shopping Centre on Friday and Saturday (April 23 and 24).

Slots at the clinic, which is open from 9.30am to 5pm both days and opposite H&M, are open to anyone over 50 who has not yet received their first jab.

Walk in appointments are available on the day or can be booked in advance by sending an NHS number, name, date of birth and a contact email or phone number to selccg.lewishamvaccinations@nhs.net or via text or WhatsApp to 07566 794161.

The vaccine available will be Astra Zeneca and free of charge.

Dr Catherine Mbema, Lewisham’s director of public health said:  “Pop-up clinics across the borough in churches and community spaces are proving hugely popular and helping to make it easy for local people to get the vaccination when it’s their turn.

“We’re targeting a priority group which has been eligible for over a month now.

“We’re hoping to attract anyone over 50 who hasn’t yet booked an appointment - perhaps because it hasn’t been convenient or maybe because they still have questions about the vaccination.

“This will be a great opportunity to talk to a GP and other health professionals to understand more about the benefits of the Covid-19 vaccination.”

The Covid-19 vaccine is now being offered to everyone over 45, eligible frontline health or social care workers, main carers for those at high risk from Covid-19, those with a learning disability as well as those who are clinically extremely vulnerable or clinically vulnerable.

Alongside the pop-up vaccine clinic, rapid test home kits will also be on offer for collection. Two packs of seven rapid tests will be available per person, free of charge.
