A pub in Bexley is planning on opening its doors and serving pints from midnight on April 12 in an eager celebration of the reopening of outdoor bars and restaurants.

After another three months spent in lockdown, many Londoners are likely eagerly awaiting the chance to return to their local public house and enjoy a pint on Monday.

And for those who've really missed the pub, one Bexleyheath local is opening its doors at exactly 00:01am on April 12.

The Kentish Belle, which has a 24-hour license, isn't waiting around and will open as soon as the restrictions ease, offering punters the chance to celebrate with a pint at midnight.

The award-winning south east London micro pub, found on Pickford Lane, revealed plans for the one-off novelty event on Twitter.

And local residents have snapped up the opportunity, with the pub on Tuesday saying there were just two seats left for the 00:01-03:00 slot, adding "come fill her up."

The pub will then close at 3am, before reopening at 1pm the same day. From there, normal opening hours result, 3pm-10pm Monday to Wednesday, 12pm-11pm Thursday to Saturday and 2pm to 6pm on Sunday.

Across the UK, around 15,000 pubs and bars are expected to open for outdoor service on Monday.
