Wireless Festival 2021 will be coming to south London this September, organisers have confirmed, with tickets already selling fast.

On Tuesday, organisers of the festival took to Twitter to reveal that the 2021 iteration of the festival was due to go ahead despite ongoing concerns regarding the coronavirus pandemic.

In a short statement posted to the micro-blogging site, a spokesperson for the festival said:

"Wireless 2021 Crystal Palace Park 10th - 12th September Tickets on sale NOW".

Tickets went on sale at 12pm today (Tuesday, March 23) and were reportedly selling out at a frantic pace, with the first batch of Saturday Day tickets all accounted within an hour of the sale going live:

"First release Saturday Day tickets have now SOLD OUT Police cars revolving light First release Friday, Sunday and Multi-day tickets still available," a later Twitter post on the festival's page read.

Wireless has previously features some of the biggest names in Hip-Hop, Rap, Grime and R&B since its inception, boasting former headliners like Jay Z, Stormzy, Rhianna and Kanye West.

A$AP Rocky and Skepta were billed to headline Wireless 2020.

However, last year's festival was cancelled over coronavirus safety restrictions, something the organisers are hoping to avoid this time.

Festival Republic, who put on the three day music festival, added further context to Tuesday's announcement about the 2021 festival in a statement posted to their website.

They said that the festival had been moved from its usual location of Finsbury Park due to the date being pushed to September from July on account of Covid-19 rules and restrictions.

"Early July was too much of a worry for us in the government’s timing out of lockdown and we really wanted to ensure Wireless could happen this year.

"Unfortunately we couldn’t make it work in Finsbury in September but we can in the beautiful Crystal Palace Park!" the statement read.
