Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a woman was pushed into a road by a man in Gravesend.

The pair were not known to each other, but became involved in an argument after the suspect approached the woman before assaulting her.

Kent Police say the female victim was walking along Valley Drive on March 20 when at around 5pm, she is said to have been approached by a man.

Following a verbal dispute, he grabbed the victim and pushed her into the road before running away. No serious injuries were sustained.

The suspect, who is not known to the victim, is described as being white and in his twenties with a slim build and black hair. He was wearing dark grey jogging bottoms, which had stripes, and a black hooded jumper.

He was walking with a woman in her sixties who is described as white and of slim to medium build with dark brown hair.
