Police raided a 50-person illegal rave at a leisure centre in Bellingham on Saturday night (February 28), according to council sources.
Officers were called to a “commercial building” in Kangley Bridge Road just before midnight to reports of an unlicensed music event.
It is against the law under the Coronavirus Act to hold music events.
On arrival police dispersed the crowd and seized sound equipment. No arrests have been made, but officers are trying to find out who organised the event.
It is understood that the building was the Bridge Leisure Centre, though police said they could not give out that specific information.
