A not-for-profit Brewery in Sydenham has been converted into a Covid-19 testing centre.
Residents without Covid-19 symptoms can now access rapid tests at four sites across the borough, including the Ignition Brewery in Sydenham High Street.
Other sites include the Deptford Lounge, the Green Man, Downham, and the Civic Suite, Catford.
Ignition Brewery, which closed during lockdown, is a not-for-profit business which employs and trains people with learning disabilities.
Nick O’Shea, co-director of Ignition Brewery, said: “Ignition is delighted to have adapted our taproom so that rapid Covid-19 testing can be offered to local key workers.
“Since the pandemic arrived, the health and the safety of our customers and staff has been paramount and so we fully support all practical efforts to detect and control this disease.
“Keeping Sydenham strong and healthy is our number one goal.”
One in three people who have Covid-19 have no symptoms and can spread it without realising.
The council is asking that residents who need to leave their home for work, including volunteers and unpaid carers, get tested twice a week to protect those around them.
Results from the rapid, lateral flow tests are usually sent out in under 30 minutes.

Dr Catherine Mbema, director of public health for Lewisham, said: “Since we introduced rapid testing in Lewisham, over eleven thousand residents have received a rapid test at one of our sites.
“By getting a regular rapid test people who need to leave their homes for work, volunteering or caring responsibilities are helping to protect the people around them.”
