An teenager from south east London has been charged with a number of terrorism offences.

Connor Burke, 18, was arrested by the Met Police's Counter Terrorism Command on Wednesday, February 24 and held under the Terror Act.

Scotland Yard said at the time that he remained at a South London police station, and was officially detained under numerous pieces of legislation aimed at curbing terrorism in the UK.

Searches of the address were also ongoing as police continued their investigation into the teenager.

On Monday, 1 March, he was charged with dissemination of terrorist publications, contrary to Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006 and four counts of possession of information likely to be useful to a terrorist, contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

He will appear in custody at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 2 March.
