Bromley’s Mayor is touring the borough’s vaccination centres to thank staff and volunteers for their vital work.
Certificates are being presented to representatives at GP-led hubs, as well as the council’s pop-up testing centres at the Civic Centre and Kentwood Centre.
The Mayor first thanked staff at vaccination centres in West Wickham and Shirley Baptist Church last week, with Penge, Beckenham, Bromley and Orpington next on the list.
The Mayor of Bromley, Councillor Hannah Gray, said: “On behalf of us all, I simply want to share our heartfelt thanks to all the staff and volunteers who are doing so much to make sure that as many people as possible receive their vaccination in the best way.
“This has been and remains a major logistical exercise which is constant, and the professionalism and care shown is something we are all grateful for.
“I am pleased that good progress is being made locally but more than anything I wanted to reach out to teams and individuals doing extraordinary things for us.”
More than 90 per cent of people over the age of 70 have received the vaccine in Bromley already.
Prior to visiting the vaccination centres, the Mayor waits for the outcome of her own test.
The two Rapid Test Centres in Bromley, at the Civic Centre and the Kentwood Centre in Penge, offer lateral flow tests for those over 18, without symptoms.
