Fancy being Britain's biggest ever lottery winner?

Well it could be you as the Euromillions jackpot rolled over for the eighth time.

Nine people managed to match five main numbers and one Lucky Star on Friday's draw meaning they bagged £123,284.80 each but no one managed to scoop the £176million jackpot.

But if someone matches all their numbers for the jackpot in tonight’s draw, they would be Britain’s biggest lottery winner, beating the current record of £170million won by an anonymous UK winner in 2019.

Camelot’s Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at The National Lottery, said: “No ticket-holder won tonight’s EuroMillions jackpot, meaning Tuesday’s EuroMillions draw will see a whopping estimated £180 million jackpot up for grabs.

“If the jackpot is won by a single UK ticket-holder on Tuesday night, they will immediately become the National Lottery’s biggest ever jackpot winner – players are urged to get their tickets early to be in with a chance of winning this mega jackpot.”

Mr Carter is part of a team of eight people who pay out prizes to lucky ticket holders who win more than £50,000.

On his advice to those who win big, Mr Carter said he recommended buying “something small” as a treat and way of celebrating, but urged against rushing into extravagant decisions.

He said part of his role is ensuring winners have access to support, whether it be legal, financial or a life coach who can “help them with their purpose”.

“As much as it sounds very boring, it’s sage advice to take your time over stuff,” he said.

“Normally we would be saying to people, go away and have a holiday – that’s quite difficult at the moment.

“But certainly it’s about taking your time and just letting it all sink in.

"It’s a huge amount of money, you could change not only your life but lots of lives and you can do an awful lot of good.”
