Trains in south east London have been hit by delays today after an emergency services incident near Blackheath Station.

According to Southeastern, a person had to removed from the train line, with the power on the line having to be turned of.

The train line first reported the incident at around 4pm, stating that emergency services were dealing with an incident between Blackheath and St Johns.

Train services have been diverted via alternative routes, meaning services between Dartford and Blackheath, and between London Cannon Street, London Charing Cross and London Victoria.

"Train services running through these stations and on all routes through Lewisham may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 18:30."

In an update, Southeastern said "police have removed the person from the line, and the power is being switched back on."

Trains will now commence running again, but the delays and disruption will likely continue on into the evening.

As well as the police incident, a signalling problem has been affecting trains between Hither Green towards London via Lewisham.
