A woman who allegedly bit a police officer on Orpington High Street has been released under investigation.

Officers on a routine patrol were approached by the woman at around 5.30pm on Thursday, February 18, who started shouting and acting aggressively.

During the course of being restrained, she allegedly bit one of the officers on his hand.

She was arrested and taken into custody where she was subsequently released under investigation.

The officer was taken to hospital where he was treated for a minor injury.

He has since been discharged and is recovering at home, as enquiries continue.
