A cannabis factory in Belvedere has been busted by police.

Officers stormed the address and then surrounded the immediate area and tracked a white male in 20s and made an arrest.

On Friday, February 19, officers from Belvedere and Thamesmead SNT attended an address in south east London to try and arrest a male for an unrelated matter.

Whilst at the address in Belvedere, 'diligent' local residents alerted officers to a white male seen running away from the venue.

Police stormed the property 'utilising their entry powers' and discovered 73 plants of cannabis growing in the upstairs bedrooms.

The officers then surrounded the immediate area and tracked a white male in his 20s, who was then arrested for the cultivation of cannabis.

The male was then taken to a South London police station, and has now been charged with cannabis cultivation.

Thamesmead East Police said had been a "very long shift," and praised the "great work involved."

Belvedere and Thamesmead SNT said they "wanted to send out a message to anyone taking up this type of business venture in Thamesmead or Belvedere that WE WILL NOT tolerate this type of activity."
