Police are hunting for a man after a woman was reportedly mugged for her cash while in Gravesend.

The victim is said to have been targeted in Milton Road, near the junction with Wellington Street at around 2.50pm on February 5.

Police said the man was reported to have forcibly taken cash from the woman's hand before walking away in the direction of the town centre, adding he was not known to her.

During the incident another man is said to have approached the victim and is believed to have spoken to the suspect before he walked away.

Officers are keen to identify him, and anyone else who witnessed the incident but is yet to speak with police.

The witness has been described as white with grey hair and aged in his forties with a stocky build. He was dressed in black clothing.

The suspect is described as being white, with short brown hair and a medium build.

He is described as being around 5ft 7ins tall and in his 20s.

At the time, he was wearing a dark jacket with a yellow logo that had the word ‘outdoorsport’ written below.

He was also wearing black trousers, with white stripes down the side.

A 26-year-old man, of no fixed address, has previously been arrested on suspicion of the robbery and he has been released pending further enquiries.
